Based in the U.K. Rebecca Brown started a selfie project as in a simple exercise where she recorded pictures of herself every day for five years that showed how her appearance changed thanks to trichotillomania which she suffers from.

Trichotillomania is a rare disorder that causes people to pull out their own hair. This condition saw brown start pulling her hair out at the age of 12 and by the time she was 16 she was nearly bald.

The good news is that in the last one year, Brown's hair has started to grow back as her condition has improved.

She’s now compiled the roughly 2100 pictures into a video on her Youtube channel.
“Beauty is more than what we see with the eyes. People are more than their conditions. I am more than my hair and skin. This only shows my exterior, I hope that people will check out my videos to see more of the girl inside,” said Brown in the comments section of the video.

Brown says that the project is ongoing and she plans to continue it as long as she can. With Brown using social media as a platform to publicise the disease and create awareness, slowly and surely trichotillomania has started to become a disorder more people are aware of and understand
