If you belong to those people who every night literally fight with their pillow and their bed... so as they finally succeed in falling sleep, then Dr. Andrew Weil has a solution for you.
It reminds me of yoga and meditation and the fact that it only needs an “exercise”… sounds great for me!
According to the method, which is based on mathematical sequence 4-7-8, a minute is just enough to fall asleep effortlessly!
This method is based on our breath. It was developed by a wellness practitioner, Harvard-educated Dr. Andrew Weil, who studies meditation, breathing, and how it can be used to counteract stress. It’s easy to do. It slows down your heart rate and it also releases chemicals in our brains that soothe you.
"We live in a hectic society and even at night when we fall asleep, our organization continues to work. There lies the root of evil that does not leave us to relax and sleep”. Noting:" Our breaths are sharp and shallow, while we are relaxing, should be deep and full”
According to Dr. Weil's method, the secret lies in breathing that should slow heart rate so as to get more oxygen.
How to apply the method in detail:
- Inhale through the nose for four seconds
- Hold your breath for 7 seconds
- Breathe out slowly over 8 seconds
As Dr. Weil explained, this process ensures relaxation, our heart rates fall, while the brain produces a range of relaxing chemicals that help us sleep.
The method has become a new trend in the US, but has not been scientifically proven yet whether it helps or not ...I think I am going to try it because every second of sleep seems so valuable to me! Personally I have tried everything but there are some periods in my life that nothing natural has helped me! And as I am an enemy of pills...I would prefer watching the moon all night long!
I am going to try it asap!
